HABTM relationships

The simplest form of many-to-many association in Ruby on Rails is called "has and belongs to many," often abbreviated HABTM. It uses a join table that has only the foreign keys for the two tables being associated. In situations in which there's additional information about the association, the newer "has_many :through" is preferred instead.
