Active Record
Active Record is the object relational model (ORM) system implemented in Ruby on Rails. It is a design pattern first described by Martin Fowler, well before the existence of Ruby on Rails, in which each table in a database is wrapped by an object. In a typical Rails application, all database access occurs through Active Record.Articles
